About RED BIRCH
RED BIRCH is dedicated to bringing quality British products to the Western Balkans. We have partnered with Polyseam Ltd, a UK-based and world-leading passive fire protection products manufacturer, to bring their Protecta range to the region. In Serbia we operate through Red Birch DOO Beograd, a local company created by our two British founders to deliver this vision.
With the active participation of both founders, our local sales team engages and consults with designers (architects and engineers), general contractors and specialist fire protection installers. We always aim to assist our clients in finding the right solution to their fire protection needs. With our vast experience of different aspects of the construction industry, combined with Polyseam’s technical expertise, we are confident we can always find the right solution to most passive fire protection problems.

RED BIRCH has the exclusive right to import all Protecta products into the Serbian and Western Balkan region, including:

Cost Effectiveness
The performance of the Protecta products we offer is at least equivalent to that of even the most advanced offerings from our competitors in the region. However, we can, and do, supply them at significantly lower list prices. Further discounts against list prices are also typically available, especially in the case of larger orders. Meet the Team
François gained his degree in Mechanical Engineering in 1986 from the University of Bristol. The first three decades of his career were spent as a consulting engineer, initially with the British firm of Arup and then with RBTT Consultants, a firm he co-founded with like-minded colleagues. His consulting work, while initially based in the UK, has, over the years, taken him all over the world, but mainly to Central and Eastern Europe. He has been involved in a mix of industrial, commercial and residential projects from Siberia to Spain, via Western Russia, Southern Hungary and Serbia. In 2019 he partnered with Stephen Newman, with whom he had already worked extensively, to create RED BIRCH.
François is a Chartered Engineer in the UK, a Fellow of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers and a Member of both the Chartered Institute of Building Services Engineers and the Association for Project Management, all also UK-based institutions. He is fluent in English and French, knows Italian to an intermediate level and has some basic Russian. He currently lives and works in Belgrade, Serbia.
Stephen gained a Russian Political Science degree in 2002 from the University of Nottingham, and, subsequently, a Project Management qualification based on PMBOK. For the majority of his career to date, Stephen has been heavily involved in the construction industry, acting as Client Project Manager and Cost Consultant, and, of late, providing design and build construction services. He has extensive experience in the UK where he has developed a number of housing projects and also in Eastern Europe, especially in Russia where he has delivered numerous interior real estate projects for both international and local clients. In 2019 he partnered with Francois Raulier, with whom he had already worked extensively, to create RED BIRCH.
Stephen is a keen sportsman and an advanced skier. He is a native English speaker, speaks Russian fluently, and has a basic understanding of Serbian. He currently spends his time between the UK, Russia and Serbia.
Vladimir gained his degree in Mechanical Engineering in 2004 in Belgrade. After graduation he decided to build his engineering career within the construction material industry. He is one of the pioneers of bringing Polish construction companies to the markets of Serbia and the Balkans.
Over the years, having developed sales skills and created an extensive sales network, he was closely involved in a number of large and successful projects in Serbia. As a result, he has acquired a broad and deep knowledge both of the construction industry in Serbia and the Balkans more generally, and of the specific requirements and dynamics of that market.
He lives and works between Niš and Belgrade, and is proud to head the Red Birch sales team.
